How Does A Moon-Cake Taste?

The filling is salty, sweet, full of flavor, showing the warmth and sweetness of our family. Many women today prefer handmade, cheap mooncakes that innovate both in design, ingredients and filling. In recent years, there has also appeared a type of moon cake for dieters (vegetarian cake), which is good for health. Preparation of ingredients


Cake filling

  • Peeled green beans: 200 grams

  • White sugar: 150 grams

  • Cake dough: 30 grams

  • Cooking oil: 50 grams

  • Malt: 50 grams

Cake skin

  • Wheat flour: 300 grams

  • Baking soda: 210 grams

  • Egg yolk: 1-2 eggs

  • Honey: 5 grams

  • Peanut butter: 15 grams

  • Vegetable oil: 40 grams

Cake topping

  • Egg yolk: 1 egg

  • Baking  soda: 1/2 teaspoon

  • Fresh milk: a little

  • Cooking oil

How to make green bean paste for moon cakes

  • Soak green beans in warm water for about 2 hours to soften the beans, wash them thoroughly, put them in a pot, add water to the level of the beans and cook.

  • Next, put the cooked beans in a blender, puree and pour into a non-stick pan. Put the pan on the stove, add sugar, stir until the sugar dissolves.

  • Then, dissolve the sticky rice flour with a little cooking oil, put it in the bean pan on the stove, stir well to make the sticky mixture thicken without burning it. Next, add the malt to the filling, slug it for a few minutes to let the ingredients blend together.

How to mold and bake moon cakes

  • Spread a layer of cooking oil on the cake mold to prevent sticking, put the sesame balls into the mold, squeeze tightly and then gently remove the cake from the mold. Continue to repeat the step until all the ingredients are prepared.

  • Preheat the oven at 180 degrees C, put the cake in the oven for about 10 minutes and then spray water on the surface of the cake with a mist sprayer.

  • Spread the mixture of fresh milk, baking sugar, egg yolk and cooking oil on the surface of the cake and then put it in the oven for the second time for another 10 minutes.
